Director of Development

The French Library Alliance Française of Boston is looking for a full-time Director of Development to support the Center’s development program by managing a portfolio of individual and corporate gift prospects.

Essential functions:

• Create and implement a development plan
• Identify and qualify prospective donors
• Develop strategies for cultivation and solicitation of prospective individual and corporate donors
• Lead Annual Fund efforts
• Maintain active communications with all departments
• Coordinate fundraising and stewardship events
• Coordinate events, prospect screening, cultivation and solicitation of prospects in specifically targeted fields or geographic locations
• Lead online development efforts/campaigns
• Work closely with the Marketing and Communications department to create appropriate message and support materials

Minimum requirements:

• Three to 5 years in the development field with demonstrated relevant experience
• A strong interest in French culture
• Proven capabilities in personal solicitations
• Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills
• Proven track record of managing complex programs
• Proven track record of successful fundraising
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks fluidly
• Proven ability to make decisions, work independently and as a team player
• Ability to handle delicate and confidential material
