We celebrated Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité at Boston’s own Bastille, the Liberty Hotel!
220 years ago, French revolutionaries stormed the Bastille prison in Paris. On July 14, 2009, we took over the Liberty Hotel in Boston!
Hundreds of Francophiles (and French for the night) stormed the Liberty Hotel for a revolutionary evening of cocktails, dinner, dancing, joie de vivre…and even some French flirting! This fabulous fête was one of the most anticipated events of the summer.
The heat picked up at 9:00 PM as the revolutionaries – all elegant and glamorous this time – took over the Liberty Hotel! Revelers celebrated Bastille Day on all three levels of the Liberty’s spectacular lobby to the sounds of DJ Jean Michel, resident dj at New York's French Tuesdays and Nikki Beach. Special surprises throughout the evening kept the revolution alive until 2:00 AM - Allons enfants de la Patrie...!
We satisfied our revolutionary appetites at the Liberty’s stylish restaurants, CLINK and Scampo, to indulge in French specials, featured for one night only.
Organized by the French Consulate in Boston, the French Library Alliance Française and the Liberty Hotel:
